Cevisama has opened for the announcement of a new edition of the Design Competition, in which participants have until December 12th to submit their projects to Feria Valencia in two methods called: ‘Industrial design and technological innovation of ceramic products for architecture’ and ‘Design bathroom equipment’.
The exhibition has allocated over € 14,000 in prize money for the winners of each of the named categories, where they will have the opportunity to present their projects during the celebration of Cevisama 2014, 11th to the 14th Of next February
By category, in the field of ceramic design the competition has opened itself to projects ceramic products for architecture which satisfies requirements of formal and aesthetic innovation, functional innovation, decorative development, good value / price, safety and respect for the environment. In this segment have two categories have been set: ceramic products made by pressing semi-dry and ceramic products formed by other methods. Meanwhile, in the segment of bathroom design it has provided an inspirational theme ‘The shared bathroom floor’.
The organization has established two awards for each of the three categories, endowed with 3,000 euros to the winner and 1,800 for second prize. It will be an independent jury appointed by Cevisama and solvents formed by professionals of the sector that will determine both the admissibility of parts and projects submitted as well as granting the prizes.
You will be able to participate in the competition if you are a student in any school of Design, Fine Arts, Architecture and Engineering-national and international-as well as graduate students and master students and 2013 graduates. The launch of the 2nd Ceramic wave street furniture contest
On the other hand, the second edition of the Street Furniture Competition promoted by the Municipality Ceramic Wave has been launched. The deadline for submission of projects will remain open until December 20th and has set a prize of 3,000 euros for the project winner, who will receive the award during the next edition of Cevisama.
A jury of experts made up of representatives from UJI, Ascer, Anfecc, the Chamber of Commerce or ITC assess the design and its potential to be translated into reality as key elements to be the winner. In fact, the City Council recently installed a number of banks constructed from ceramic material from the project ‘color lines’ by Pascual Herrero and Lluís Bort , winners of the first edition of this event, in the renovated Onda Raval square of the town.

Cevisama innovation area and the axis of ‘See You in Valencia 2014’
Both the Ceramic Wave Street Furniture Design Competition and the Design Competition form part of Cevisama Lab, the area of innovation and experimentation at Cevisama and which also includes initiatives that will be present at the meeting in 2014 such as the Golden Alfa Awards, the Trans\hitos exhibition, the Forum of Architecture and Design, the Meeting Point and EXCO conferences.
Cevisama Lab will be one of the major themes to be focused on at the ‘See You at Valencia 2014’ initiative, the event that brings together the joint celebration of Cevisama, Feria Habitat Valencia and Fimma Maderalia as well as the series of workshops, exhibitions, conferences , cultural initiatives or ‘showrooms’ to be held from the 11th to the 14th of February in Valencia.
